Intelligent Power Module (IPM)
An IPM incorporates a control IC with an integrated IGBT drive circuit and a protection circuit, so it is easy to design peripheral circuits and ensure a high system reliability. Overcurrent protection, short circuit protection, under voltage protection and overheat protection are built-in features of all IPM modules.
IPMs are suitable for applications such as servo drives, air conditioning equipment and elevators.
There are different power classes of IPM modules: The small-IPM modules in 600 V and 650 V, with a current range from 10 A up to 75 A, and the IPM modules in 650 V and 1200 V, with a current range from 100 A to 450 A.
